Pssst! London venue confirmed next month, address and directions below!

Not to disappoint, this isn’t a call to share the latest cosmetics or youthful creams which will make us look beautiful, although as smart woman professionals we already look fabulous and are aware that how we present ourselves and our body language is 90% of communication after all (so say the experts).

What I’d like to remind you of  today as your trusted Shoe Hostess is that as we grow older (and wiser), it’s more important than ever to get in touch with our inner child in order to make the necessary gutsy moves in business.

What would your younger self do in any business situation?

.

..I shall remind you in case you’ve lost touch with the child-like confidence I assure you, you still have:

.

  • Your younger self would pose a question they are curious about, not caring whether they looked smart or foolish.

  • Your younger self would stand up and call out someone whom they thought was being unfair.

  • Your younger self would take risks in any given situation because they had nothing to lose either way.

  • Your younger self would remain wide-eyed and open to learning from unexpected mentors who cross their path.

.

The number one footprint which I’ve learned from meeting and interviewing successful entrepreneurs and leaders is in fact the very same lesson I’ve learned myself once I declared what would make me H-A-P-P-Y in my career and that is as a smart ambitious professional who has set her sights on success

you need to Think Less and Act More  even when you don’t know where a decision will lead you.

.

It’s kind of like driving in the fog, trusting that the next few hundred feet in front of you will open up the road on which you need to be. Let’s fast forward to today’s business world with global economies more rockier than ever and there you are still on your A-game. How can you embrace your inner child to make permanent tracks in your career? As your trusted Shoe Hostess my purpose in life is to remind you:

it all comes down to the gutsy moves which by definition kicks your child-like confidence into gear.

Here are some gutsy moves which I’ve made both as a professional in Corporate America and entrepreneur:

.

  • Picking up the phone and asking someone if I can partner with them without their knowing who I am, my reputation or my credentials asking for 30 seconds of their time.
  • E-mailing a stranger I have only met once many years ago and asking if they can help me on the grounds that we have history after all.
  • Respectfully disagreeing with someone’s business decision, because they’ve missed a blind spot which most likely will harm their project.
  • Going back into someone’s office after I’ve heard the word ‘No’ asking my question again another way but with a creative twist.

It’s time to share your gutsy moves with the rest of us. Perhaps you don’t believe you have made any gutsy moves. No worries. That’s why I’m in your life  to assure you that you have. How do I know this? Because if you’ve landed at In Our Shoes and have returned back,

you seek to be inspired and people who seek inspiration recognize what it takes to inspire others a la the gutsy moves.

Until we meet in London in two weeks time! Address below to November 8th event and many thanks to www.Salans.com who is sponsoring our inspiring event. New York and Toronto, these are coming your way soon.
