YOU HAVE VOICE MAIL FROM YOUR COACH… LISTEN NOW BELOW.

I’ve sent you a voice mail today, keep reading this is your gutsy assignment this week. 🙂 Please take a look at the list of leaderships titles below. Don’t get caught up in the buzz words, the label doesn’t really matter. What’s relevant is that you believe from where your shoes are planted now, that you are positioned for growth starting today on July 4, 2018.

Which of these titles describe you right now in your career?

  • Center of Influence
  • Free thinker

STEP 1
Which of these titles most resonate  with where you are as an expert in your field? It’s ok if you have only been in your current role for  one year or less. Self-qualify yourself today as a leading authority there.  I know a few things about the professional you are.  I know that you do not sit on your hands waiting for others to tell you what to do. You always digest what needs to be done and can hit the ground running with new projects. If in a split second, you had to speak to your responsibilities you would be able to do so and mention ways in which you deliver value.

You are a thought leader if you chose at least one title from this list. A thought leader is someone who considers themselves an expert in their field, don’t lose sight of that. Even if you find yourself somewhere on the mindful introverted scale, you are still owning your authority.

Now read the title(s) again that you selected above. Leading from that place,  is your point of power and where you will lead with influence.

STEP 2

Now, let’s get clear on what you know and simply explore possibilities from here. Identify one or two areas which you excel in, in your current role. Identify one or two areas that you would enjoy doing more of (even if you aren’t there right now). Now bundle all of your knowledge around those things into a neat package of pride and joy so you can supply and “sell” it to those who want your expertise and  go on to something which positions you for more growth. Write whatever comes up for you. This is your low-hanging fruit. Please journal out all of those areas, include how you feel, explore the patterns that emerge looking back over the years in those same areas. Get it all down on paper.

STEP 3

Now I’m about to pick up the phone and call you. Here’s my voice mail message if you prefer to listen instead and keep it more real. 🙂

This voice mail has a very important question. I’m going to ask: “Talk to me about the things that you can do in your sleep at work, the things you are really good at, the things you enjoy and the things you want to do more of. If I were to wave a magic wand and you have just resigned, what ideal role would you have? In other words, what would you be doing 90-days from now on October 2, 2018?”

Remove the filters with all the “BUTS” and roll with me on this one. Say whatever comes up for you by answering my loving phone call.  ; )

As a gutsy challenge, whatever you would tell me on the other end which comes up for you intuitively, is what you should bundle and “sell” to others.  If you are going to set any career action plan, that’s it. That’s your game plan and in a gutsy state of being, is a non-negotiable.  You know you are ready for growth when you have expertly mastered your role and possibly outgrew  the people you’ve been working with for so long (I say this with love).

I’m about to dial your number in the next five minutes, where are you now and more importantly where do you want to be? As your gutsy career coach, I’m very end-game oriented. This is not a confidence thing, it’s a CLARITY thing. Once you’re clear, then so is everyone else around you and where you will show up owning your authority every time. 

Here’s to making some gutsy moves this week! Things begin to fall into place when we make the commitment to the things we want. Not a push pull type of commitment. An ALL-IN kind of commitment so you can gently flow with the current downstream – pulling that abundance toward you.
